Meet the Team

Tom Swartz  | Texoma Valley Area Director

I graduated from Sanger High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of North Texas a master’s degree in education from Texas Wesleyan University. Throughout my 32-year career in education, I served as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Additionally, I am an ordained minister through FCA, serving as a Minister of the Gospel.

Having spent much of my life in the Denton County area, I am blessed to share it with my wonderful wife, Brenda. Together, we have three grown children: Courtney and Cody Walden, Austin Davidson, and Jennifer Swartz. We’re also proud grandparents to two beautiful granddaughters, ages 10 and 4. Now in my fifth year with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, I am excited to serve as the newest area director in North Texas, continuing to impact lives for Christ.

I am so thankful and blessed to be a part of the Texoma Valley FCA Team. My wife Patti and I have been married for 36 years with two sons, Brise 35, and Rowdy 31. We have 4 grandchildren, Keagen 12, Ryker 7, Adley 5, and Oakland 2. I have had the privilege of being a youth pastor for 7 years, and a pastor for 3 years. Currently, I lead a daily Bible study at work, and my wife and I are the FCA coaches for Valley View and host weekly FCA huddles in our home.

One of my favorite verses is the first one I memorized as a believer, Colossians 2:6-7 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

My passion is to see lives changed thru the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and disciples made so that they will impact others for generations to come 2 Timothy 2:2.

To also see our public schools once again honoring God, educating young people to be stewards of themselves and this great country God has so richly entrusted to us.

Harvard, which was established in 1636, wrote in its student handbook, “Let every student be plainly instructed, and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life…John. 17:3.

To be truly happy, and to have true success in life is to know Jesus as Lord and Savior and to glorify Him, that is my passion.

Paola Koerner | Administrative Assistant

Paola was born in Germany to two Italian parents. She learned early on to maneuver between two cultures and languages. She went on to study languages at the University of Saarbruecken, Germany and finished her degree at the University of North Texas.

She met her husband while studying in Germany and in 2004 they got married and moved back to Dallas.

Paola and Phil have two beautiful girls that are 13 years and 11 years old. In September of 2021, Paola came on staff at FCA and has loved serving in this capacity ever since.

Watching the Lord unfold his plan is such a privilege.  She is now serving multiple directors as their Executive Administrative Assistant and is looking forward to seeing the Lord do amazing work through Texoma Valley FCA.

Kearah Houchin | Events Director

FCA has been a part of my life since I was 11 years old going to the huddle meetings that my dad was having at the JH he taught and coached at. It progressed with me being a student leader throughout JH and then actually getting a huddle started at my HS. I pretty much told the teacher that I just needed them to be the “Sponsor” and allow us to use their room and I would do the rest. To this day the huddle is still going 20 years later – which is pretty incredible to see the Lord’s provision over that. After graduating from HS I started coaching track and volunteered to lead huddles at whatever schools I was blessed to be apart of as I also married a football coach and as we all know that can take you all over the place. 5 years ago I was blessed with the opportunity to join the FCA Nebraska staff to help run all their events across the state. It has been a dream come true to be apart of the ministry that has been foundational in the growth of my faith walk.

This past year the Lord called our family to Texas and presented us with the opportunity for my husband to open up a sports performance facility in Celina… Through the Lord’s provision once again He allowed a divine appointment to happen where I was helping the teacher at my son’s elementary school with their huddle last year and came across Mr. Tom Schwartz. Through that encounter, the Lord has slowly opened up doors and possibilities for me to plant my roots in Texas and help grow the kingdom here.

I have been married for 17 years, have 4 children, and coached track and field for the past 17 years (until we moved because apparently in TX you have to be in the school system to coach – I’m still figuring out how to make this work) but what I LOVE about FCA is the impact it has had on my marriage and my family.. but even more so combining my passion for Jesus and sports and seeing kids experience the freedom of knowing Jesus as their Lord and Savior and in turn… playing with a freedom they never thought was possible.

Britt Lusk | Texoma Valley FCA Area Representative.

My name is Britt Lusk, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve our communities in the Texoma Valley through FCA. I graduated high school in 2023 and am currently pursuing an associate’s degree in psychology at NCTC. At my church, I faithfully serve as a middle school leader, worship leader, and wherever else I am needed.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes holds a special place in my heart; I have been serving with this organization since my freshman year of high school. My first encounter with the gospel was at an FCA camp in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 2019. That experience changed my life and sparked my passion for submitting to God and sharing Jesus with youth and athletes, equipping them to live Christ-centered lives.

As I join the Texoma Valley FCA team, I am praying that we will see Christ transform the lives of athletes and coaches, equipping them to equip others. The scripture that guides me as I step into this ministry is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

My prayer is to remain submitted to His will and authority in my life so that I can boldly proclaim the Gospel and make an eternal impact.

Jason Robinson | Texoma Valley FCA Area Representative

A lifelong resident of Texas, I graduated from Pottsboro High School in 2002 with aspirations of becoming a firefighter, inspired by the events of 9/11. On January 27, 2003—just three weeks before graduation—I was involved in a serious car accident after falling asleep at the wheel. During my 2.5-year recovery, God placed a burden on my heart to impact youth.

After regaining my health, I moved to Frisco and joined a church where I could use my talents and aspirations as a speaker and writer to make a difference. I served as a youth leader, focusing on directing, teaching, speaking, building curriculum, discipling, and mentoring young people.

During that time, I also pursued a career as a health and fitness coach, gaining valuable experience working with individuals from all walks of life, including youth, the elderly, and even collegiate and professional athletes.

In 2013, God called me back to Grayson County, and a couple of years later, I met my wife, Jessika, who is my rock next to Christ. We quickly started our family and have been blessed with 8 years of marriage and 4 amazing children: Abigail (7), Oliver (4), Madison (2), and our youngest, Azariah, who is 6 months old.

A life verse that has always guided me through difficult times is Jeremiah 29:11, which says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This verse serves as a reminder during trials and tribulations that God has a plan for my betterment, and by staying focused on Him, I can overcome all things.

I am excited about this opportunity with FCA and look forward to seeing how God will use me to help others come to know and grow in Him.

Alison Williams | Texoma Valley FCA Area Representative

I am honored and excited to step through the door that God has opened for me as a Texoma Area Representative for FCA. I am approaching my 30th year of teaching and coaching, which will be completed in May of 2026. Over the years, my journey has been deeply intertwined with FCA, as I’ve been involved as a sponsor in nearly every school where I’ve worked.

My journey with FCA began as an athlete at Duncanville High School, where I was blessed to be a part of three state championship basketball teams in 1988, 1989, and 1990. From there, I went on to the University of Arkansas, where I played on the last Southwest Conference Championship women’s basketball team that made it to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. During my time at Arkansas, I was involved with FCA and a similar organization, Arkansas Athletes Outreach. I earned my bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Arkansas in 1995, followed by a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University in 2014.

My teaching and coaching career began back home in Duncanville, where I started as a middle school coach. I later moved to Sherman, Texas, to marry my best friend and fellow educator/coach, Bart Williams. Together, we worked at Sherman High School, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Van Alstyne High School, and eventually settled in Pottsboro, Texas, where I am currently an academic advisor and coach for cross country and track. Bart and I were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Haiden (24) and Hadley (21), both of whom are now teachers and coaches in Melissa and Pottsboro, respectively.

In 2018, my life took an unexpected and heart-wrenching turn when my husband, Bart, passed away from cancer after 20 years of marriage. While this was an incredibly difficult season in my life, it was through this struggle that I became wholly reliant on God's grace. God used this painful experience to strengthen my faith and transform my heart. As a result, I’ve experienced a deep joy in recent years that I had never known before.

As a Texoma Area Representative for FCA, I am passionate about ministering to students and coaches, helping to further the Gospel in any way possible. The words from 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 resonate deeply with me: “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” I simply want to be a vessel of God's light and truth, and I am excited for all that He has in store for me in this next chapter of my life.
