Regional Vice President
We're excited to announce Julio Gómez as Latin America North's new International Regional Vice President. This region includes ten countries: Belize, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama, as well as the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. Please pray with us as Julio begins his new assignment.
Julio started serving with FCA in 2015 and in 2017, he became the Guatemala National Director. He established a local team of staff and volunteers who continue to grow the ministry to coaches and athletes. Julio played professional soccer and holds a FIFA coach’s license. Julio and his wife, Jennifer, have a son and daughter and reside in Guatemala.

Merely 10% of the population claims Christianity as their faith, other beliefs, notably Santería* and Catholicism, wield a considerable influence.
The economy is based on tourism, tobacco, nickel, and biotechnology. The economic and social crisis affects all aspects of Cuban life and has impacted the development and practice of sports.
Most practiced sports: Baseball, Soccer, and Combat sports.
*Santería is a blend of African and Catholic beliefs practiced in Cuba and the Caribbean, involving rituals for orisha deities.
Meet the FCA Cuba Team
It's a blessing to have a team of 5 staff members, 10 directors, and 227 volunteers.
Through 151 Huddles, the Gospel message is shared with a community of around 5,000 individuals, including athletes, coaches, and their families.
Gratitude abounds for the 415 new believers and 134 baptisms in the fiscal year 2021-2022. Looking ahead to 2023-2024, we joyfully anticipate 500 new believers and 100 baptisms!
